Young people are not simply participants in Heavy Sound.

Their experiences, ideas and ambitions help shape what we do and how we do it.

Contribution is one of the conditions at the heart of Heavy Sound. As relationships and confidence grow, young people have opportunities not only to take part, but to contribute their experience, ideas and perspectives to the organisation itself.

Our Youth Advisory Board provides a direct route for young people to influence how Heavy Sound develops. It creates space for their voices to be heard, but also for young people to take responsibility, develop leadership and help shape what happens next.

Over time, we want that role to grow. Our ambition is for young people who have developed through Heavy Sound to become part of its future – shaping and leading opportunities for the young people and communities who come after them.
