Unpaid Work Bike Workshop

The UPW bike workshop was a collaborative project between Heavy Sound, Go For The Gap and East Lothian Council’s Justice Social Work Services
Its aims were to build positive relationships with the participants and to provide a mentoring service that would address their previous behaviours and their decision-making processes, with the ultimate aim to prevent re-offending. The project delivered general bike mechanics tied to analysing, prioritising, planning and execution of workload along with healthy relationships, decision making and building resilience by learning new skills.
The programme allowed those working within the project to give something meaningful back to their communities.
This project finished in 2022.
